Your second Birthday!

We are so excited Crosby! You are two and your second birthday party is Sunday!  I already took you to your well baby exam and you are 33 and 1/4 inches tall and 33 pounds. Big boy 97% percentile.
We ordered your cake today from A Baker's Wife Bakery. We are giving you a construction themed party because you love trucks and big machines.
This evening we went to a party hosted at the home of the owners of Daddy's company. It was fun, too much fun we had to leave because you wouldn't stop running around the pool and you almost got hurt twice!
I love you honey. I can't wait to write about your party. Xo

First selfie!

Still not talking but you understand EVERYTHING!

You are amazing Crosby. You still prefer your signs to words but you have a few words you like to use.

Uh oh
Yeah!
Oh no!
Nooo
Da da
Ma ma
Pa pa
Grama
Ball
Hot
Yay!
Good
Mmmmm
(Usually mmgoood)
Car
Wawa

You don't listen well 😖 you want to do what you want to do! You get mad and hit Mommy and scream at me when I take things away from you (after asking, when you usually run away full speed, mommy has learned that when you have found something sharp, it's best to do a sneak attack.)
You aren't any different than any other two year old exerting their independence, except your bigger and stronger than 97% of them and your mama is smaller than most mamas.
I don't care. I LOVE that you are thriving and blossoming. It's amazing to watch you grow Crosby. Everyday you learn something new. I love it.
I love you.

Father's Day is Sunday. We have the perfect gift for daddy. Hopefully you can stay still long enough to make it for him! I have faith that you can do it sweetie!

Love you. Your waking up now angel. I'm gonna go kiss your hair that smells like sunshine from out walk earlier. Xo

Kiss for mommy

Today my sweet little boy you took time out of your busy, busy day to stop and kiss mama's face. So unexpected. It was possibly the sweetest moment of my life so far. I just had to say thank you. You mean so much to me and each kiss is so precious. I love you Crosby Dean.

A fun morning at the Fleming home

Your so darn cute! Mama loves you.

Easter 2014

We hosted this year at out house on Cedar. We had an open house so all could come and go as they pleased. It was great. We had nice warm weather (it's been freezing since then) Auntie Rachel made a nice slide show but since I can't upload videos here 😕 you will have to go to Facebook to see it or as her. I so have some nice photos of you though.

Sandbox fun in New Ulm

We were in New Ulm for granny's funeral recently. Two nights in a hotel and you did great sweetheart. We were able to meet many members of Daddy's family who live in other states and also little Oliver, the next addition to our family after you came. He's just a few months old. Another boy in the Fleming family. Imagine that!
Mommy sang tribute to granny at mass. Amazing Grace. That is Mama's way to honor those who leave us and help soothe the souls of those who remain with us. It was the first time I sang for Daddy's family and now I feel much more connected with them.
Grandpa Larry and Grandma Bev drove down to take care of you during granny's mass. Your so active baby, if they had not come mass would have been a nightmare and since mommy was singing, Daddy and Uncle Jason were reading, Mama Par had to stay in mass and Papa Jim's thumb is hurt so he can't lift you, that leaves no one else to watch you and keep you quiet! You really wanted to play with the dedication candles and that's a big nono. You took a car ride, had something to eat and took a little nap in the car. We were very thankful for the help.
We had dinner at the church, like usual then Daddy's cousin Tim invited us over to get away from the hotel for a bit and let you play. You preferred the sand box to all the other toys even though it was a bit windy (you love a nice breeze on your face.)

Your smile, dimples and baby blues were a huge hit with the family. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jim sure loved showing you off. All and all a good trip though it was for a sad reason it was wonderful to get together with everyone.
Right now your sleeping in your crib, mommy is watching the news and laying with the dogs and Daddy is watching the wild game with his friends at Tony's.
I love you Crosby Dean so very very much. 😘

Midtown global market

After church today we went to the midtown global market. There were salsa dancers in the bazaar and you were showing off your moves! The instructor loved you and asked you to come up and dance with everyone. Mama dosent have a picture but that's ok. We will go back again.
After your dancing you were hungry so we got some schwarma from a hala restraunt with delicious rice and cucumber sauce. You didn't like it.

I'm anxious for you to be able to hold my hand Crosby. Once you get that down we can explore so much more. Right now you want to do everything on your own and do not like to be touched. When that changes you won't run into dangerous situations as much. Also mama won't get as tired as quickly trying to keep you alive!

I love you Crosby. I love your whole face smile and your big blue eyes. Your chubby arms and your stubborn spirit. The way you run because you have no fear. I love you.

Playing with Grandpa Larry.

You had a blast playing casino games with Grandpa on his iPad. You can see how happy Grandpa is to hold you.
You won't tolerate being held for long so we all try to enjoy it while you let us. Even thou you do not like to snuggle, You make everyone around forget their worries for a moment as they watch you being you Crosby. Thank you for being you. Mama loves you. Forever.

First time at church!

Today we went to first Unitarian church at 3400 DuPont ave in Minneapolis. Gaga and Kristin Mortenson joined us.

You went to toddler class and had so much fun! You made Mommy and Daddy a picture with crayons. We love it!

The message of service today was about giving more of yourself than you are comfortable doing. Going above and beyond what you normally do and see that it won't in fact kill you, or hurt you, or really do anything bad at all. Quite the opposite is true. You will feel a lightening of spirit.
Mommy saved a dollar that she found in an old purse and some change (1.80) earlier in the week.
I took the dollar to put in the offering at church. Mommy hasn't spent a penny since we moved into our new home. She can't.
During service it dawned on her that the dollar was in her coat pocket that daddy hung up in the coat room.
At a pause in service, she told Daddy
"I brought that dollar I found, but I left it in my coat  do you have a dollar in your wallet?" He replied "yes"
I said "do you have three?" Thinking of the message just delivered.
Then daddy said a wonderful thing.
"I have five we can give."

Mom and dad gave five times the amount that Mama had intended, and we didn't die. It's a small start but one we hope to carry through into other parts of our lives.

After service we all sat and ate delicious spring rolls compliments of Kristin (nom nom nom) you were soon all tuckered out and we had to wisk you off to your nap.

We love you binner.

Another move...third 15 months. Wow.

40** cedar ave S. Our new home. We rented from a couple of nice guys. They live 8 blocks away.

We move February first. Mommy prays this will be the last move we put you through until we finally buy a home.

The new place is beautiful. All hardwood floors and you love your room. It's amazing the reaction you have had to that room the three times we have seen it.
It is only a few miles away from mama pat and papa jim. Uncle Jason will visit you often.
A half block away is Sibley park. Mommy is soooo excited to take you up to the kiddi pool. They have fountains and squirty things for you to play with in a few months when it's warm. The new place has a security system and a washer dryer and a gas stove for Mommy! Yay!

You enjoyed living with grandma but now it's time for our own family space. Grandma gaga had been sick and needs peace and quiet to heal.
Daddy is working two jobs again to help pay for our move. It's been stressful but now we are looking forward to a normal spring and summer.
This is your room. Outside you can almost see the swirly slide the neighbors have.

Your closet you love
The bathroom is nice and big. There is a big area behind the tub for all your bath time toys.
This is the living/dining room from the den.
 We love you Crosby. Xo
